How to Find Great Holiday Deals

If you're after a great deal on your next getaway or you're on the hunt for cheap package holidays, there are a number of little tips and tricks that you can try.

If you're planning somewhere a little less traditional than the standard package holiday destination, such as a city break or a longer trip with multiple stop-offs, it's often worth going down the DIY route and booking your flights and hotel separately. But be sure to book as far in advance as possible - up to a year if necessary - to ensure you get the best price on your flights. Unlike chartered flights and package holidays, schedule flights often get pricier the closer you get to your departure date. So it's worth scouring the options with plenty of time to spare and using flight comparison sites to check the price against multiple airlines.

If you're planning to visit a more traditional package holiday destination such as Spain, the Greek Islands or Turkey, along with long-haul destinations such as Florida and the Caribbean , you can normally get a great deal by booking a last-minute package holiday with an established tour operator.

For example, Thomas Cook vacations cover a huge range of destinations and with every package holiday, they offer all the standards benefits such as return flights, accommodation, resort transfers and a representative situated either on-site or nearby who is on hand to help when necessary.

Book as late as possible - up to a week or a few days in some cases - as this will give you the best price on a package deal. You'll often get the best discount by being flexible , so the more open you are to different departure dates, destinations, local resorts, and departure airports, the more likely you are to secure a great discount.

  11. Everyone is looking for cheap flights to Africa, Asia, Europe or America. However, I don’t agree that you should book late to get cheap rates. You miss so many options that you can avail only by booking earlier. Legitimate companies like Reliance Travels UK would arrange a trip for you at half price of what you will pay while booking late.
