Things to do in Vail during the Summer

When someone thinks of Vail, Colorado, visions of white peaks, fluffy snow, lifts and a friendly lodge to enjoy at the end of a fun-filled day of skiing or snowboarding. For the ordinary traveler, enjoying the Vail summer rarely comes to mind. Unfortunately, this means that a world of exercise, fun and exploration. Trail running, hiking, road biking, mountain biking, rafting, horseback riding, golf, tennis, fishing and kayaking start the list of activities available during the summer at the Vail Mountain Resort, fit for families, couples and singles. Adventure Race where kids from six to 14 years of age pair off and compete against other teams to successfully complete sporting events and obstacles like tubing, archery, a low ropes course, a climbing wall, a zip line, a huge slip-and-slide and a Tarzan swing. They build teamwork and problem-solving skills as well as display and improve physical fitness, all after a comprehensive safety briefing. Adults can enjoy the Gopro Mountain Games, watch the USA Pro Cycling Challenge, volleyball tournaments and many other activities.

Family unity is encouraged with the regularly scheduled Lions head Family Saturday Afternoon Club with lots of great, free family events. All this plus jazz concerts, terrific restaurants and a friendly and courteous staff await summer visitors to Vail, Colorado.
