One of the most celebrated and most colorful festivals in the country is the Pahiyas Festival. It is held every 15th day of May in Lucban, Quezon, in honor of the patron saint San Isidro Labrador. It is an annual celebration in thanksgiving for abundant harvests.The locals show their gratefulness by decorating their houses with harvests like fruits and vegetables and of local craftwork and handicraft.
One of the most traditional and must look after decoration is the kiping. The kiping is a leaf-shaped wafer made of rice. Kiping can be made into a chandelier like decoration called as an ‘aranya’ or as enormous flowers which add charm to the houses.
