WATER SPORTS IN TANJUNG BENOA, BALI

WATER SPORTS IN TANJUNG BENOA

The Indonesian island of Bali has become one of the world’s top holiday resorts for people interested in adventure vacations. Not only is there amazing scenery and an interesting Hindu-dominated culture here, there’s also the opportunity to engage in many different kinds of water sports, especially in Tanjung Benoa, a vibrant beach area next to Nusa Dua, on the southern tip of the island. Here, you’ll find lots of exciting activities for all the family.

Jet skiing
There’s nothing quite like feeling the wind in your hair as you travel atop water at high speed on a top quality jet ski and that’s exactly what you’ll be able to do when spending a week or so on the island. As with most activities available here, you’ll be under the guidance of expertly trained instructors who are dedicated to ensuring you have the best time possible. On top of this, prices are extremely reasonable, so what are you waiting for?

Banana Boating
If controlling your own sea vehicle doesn't sound too appealing, opting to take a high-speed ride on one of Bali’s banana boats might tickle your fancy. Some people think this can be a little bit dangerous but, as everyone is given a suitable lifejacket and those who operate the experience pay special attention to safety, there’s really very little to worry about.

Parasailing
As you can see from the photograph included in this article, parasailing is also a big activity in the Tanjung Benoa area of Bali and so anyone who’s ever wanted to fly high above the ocean with the aid of a specially-designed parachute is sure to have a fantastic time. While this only lasts for around half an hour there are so many different companies around that you’ll never need to wait for another go.

Snorkelling
The water around Indonesia is some of the clearest in the world, which means it’s perfect for those who enjoy spending their days exploring the depths of the ocean. There’s a wide variety of fish and enough exciting plant life to satisfy even the most sceptical of your travel companions. While you’ll need to be a confident swimmer, most areas are relatively stable so you don’t need to worry too much about dealing with strong currents or tides.

Waterskiing
This is probably one of the most popular water sport activities on the entire island of Bali, but it’s a particularly common pastime for tourists in the Tanjung Benoa region. It might take you a while to get the hang of standing up (and staying stood up), but once you’ve got the hang of it, water-skiing is an incredibly fun way to spend a few hours during your stay.

Tanjung Benoa has so much to offer tourists, which is why the number of people visiting this area has almost doubled in the last few years. Make Bali your destination for your next adventure holiday. You will be spoilt for choice when looking for hotels and resorts in Bali. The island caters well to those with smaller budgets, looking for a more laid-back adventure but if you can afford the price tag, there are many luxury hotels in Bali to choose from. One of our favourites in Tanjung Benoa itself is The Chedi Sakala with 261 suites and villas, not a standard guestroom in sight and thoroughly Balinese yet entirely modern.

  1. Great article... I am a huge fan of Nusa Dua. The waves aren't massive but there is so much to see and do... I loved it!!
