My First International Travel with #WEECOMM: From Hard Work to Malaysia

My first international travel with WeeComm was more than just a trip — it was a reward for hard work.

We met up at Davao airport around 5pm and took some photos and immediately proceed to gate bound to Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 via Philippine Airline and we arrived past 7pm and went ahead to our Hotel in Pasay. Instead of magpahulay what we did nagkiat pa sa BGC (hoy! nag dinner lang jud) and we went to Okada magtapon ng pera ( char lang!) and went back to the hotel around 2:30am and quick change our clothes and back to the Aiport (NAIA Terminal 1) bound to Malaysia.(as in wlay tulog ang mga ferson, ingana mi ka gamhanan lol)

DAY 1

We reached Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Airport Terminal 1 past 10am and took some photos and had a quick lunch at Saigon Viet Cuisine. First, we visited Official Residence of the King of Malaysia. Istana Negara (National Palace) serves as the official residence of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the Supreme King of Malaysia. This magnificent palace represents the sovereignty and dignity of the Malaysian monarchy, one of the few remaining constitutional monarchies in Southeast Asia. While the palace itself is not open for interior tours, the exterior and surrounding areas offer visitors a glimpse into Malaysia's royal heritage and the opportunity to witness the impressive Changing of the Guards ceremony.

I was amazed by the yellow palace. I mean, it was my first time to visit a National Palace of some royal blood in Southeast Asia.

Next stop, we visited the Coffee and Chocolate Factory (Yung iba na budol hahahah) masarap naman talaga pero pang maharlika ang presyo so what we did tikim tikim nalang sa mga free taste.

We visited also the Merdeka Square, historic Independence park and River of life.

According to our tour guide Ms. Suzan, Merdeka Square (locally known as Dataran Merdeka) is the historic heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Standing as a monumental symbol of Malaysian national identity, this sprawling open square is the exact site where the Union Jack was lowered and the Malayan flag was raised for the very first time at midnight on 31 August 1957, marking the official declaration of independence from British colonial rule.

The River of Life (RoL) is a landmark urban rejuvenation project located at the historic convergence point of the Klang River and Gombak River.

Before going to Local Restaurant for dinner, we visited the famous Petronas tower.

What’s the first thing people do when they come to Kuala Lumpur? Head to the Petronas Towers of course! It’s Kuala Lumpur’s stamp on the city skyline and visiting the Petronas Towers is probably the most popular attraction throughout Malaysia!

After dinner we headed to our hotel (Hotel Royal) located in Bukit Bintang. This will be our hotel for the rest of our tour.

DAY 2 - MELACCA

We’re heading to Melacca! It’s a historic city known for its rich heritage, charming streets, and unique Peranakan culture.

Malacca — Melaka in Malay — is a place located just under 2 hours from the capital by bus.  Malacca is a UNESCO World Heritage site. This means it’s a cultural treasure chest, and well worth your time.

• Melacca Heritage Trail

We’ll visit some of Malacca’s iconic landmarks, including Dutch Square and St. Paul’s Hill, and explore the city’s rich history along the way.

• Melacca River Cruise

If Malacca had a heart, it would be the river. This is the city’s main tourist attraction, and for good reason. It’s lined with perfectly manicured flower beds in some parts, crossed by colorful bridges in others, and overall flanked by an endless stretch of cozy riverside cafes.

You’ll find everything here: Stylish bars and coffee shops, all with a front-row seat to the water. And what a view! When the sun goes down, the river comes alive with music, glowing lanterns turn on, and the whole promenade turns into a shiny fairytale.

• Jonker Street

We’ll wrap up our Malacca trip with a visit to Jonker Street. Feel free to explore, check out the local shops, and enjoy the vibe of this charming heritage district.

DAY 3 - Batu Cave and Genting Highlands Skyworlds Theme Park.

One of the other amazing destinations to visit while in Kuala Lumpur are the Batu Caves located just outside the city. I had read about this place prior to visiting and my excitement for reaching it was growing. As soon as we arrived to the city, you will be able to see the world’s tallest statue of Murugan, a Hindu deity, located outside the cave. The limestone forming the caves behind it are said to be more than 400 million years old however the Batu Caves were officially built as a religious shine back in the early 1890’s. Today, it’s known to be one of the most popular shrines for Hinduism and there is even a yearly festival that takes place here.

Before you can reach the Genting Skyworlds you need to ride the Cable Car and that was my first time and was really fun.

Genting SkyWorlds: Where Movies Become Reality Above the Clouds

High in the cool mountains of Pahang, an hour from Kuala Lumpur, sits Malaysia's most ambitious theme park.

If you only have one day, here are 3 rides you can't miss:

1. Ice Age: Acorn Adventure - The Acorn Chase Through The Glacier. This is the heart of the Ice Age world. You ride inside an artificial 30-meter-tall snow-capped mountain peak, chasing Scrat and his beloved acorn.

Don't be fooled by the "family" label. The ride is surprisingly fast and the final curve is downright sensational. Making it perfect for kids and adults who want thrills without being terrified. It's consistently rated as one of the most popular rides in the park. Dito natikman ni Maam Roshelle and unang panginginig. Sa gitna ng rides napapa AYOKO Naaaaaahhhhh....talaga sya.

2. Samba Gliders

Its signature ride is Samba Gliders, a suspended coaster similar to Canopy Flyer at Universal Studios Singapore. You board a hang-glider, your feet dangle in the air, and you soar for a bird's-eye view. 8/10

Pro tip from regulars: Sit at the front for the most exciting view, and enjoy the cold mountain wind. It's not intense, but the panoramic view is unbeatable. Eto yung rides na dapat una mong pipilahan , pang warm up kung baga ...hahahahahah 10/10

3. Alpha Fighter Pilots - The Ultimate 360°

Head to Andromeda Base.Board a hybrid aerospace fighter and take flight through a space battle simulation that will take you on 360-degree spins.

This is not for the faint-hearted. The planes rotate, twist and loop while you control part of the pitch. It's loud, it's dizzying, and it's one of the most photographed rides in the park. 10/10

DAY 4 -LAST DAY IN MALAYSIA / SHOPPING

After namin mag ayos ng mga bagahe para umuwi balik sa Pipinas :(  Nagshopping muna kami nearby malls and bought some pasalubong before going to the airport.

My first-time experience in Malaysia has been wonderful! I loved experiencing a different culture, exploring new places, and learning about the Malaysian way of life. It's truly a memorable experience I will never forget.

More than the places, it was the experience of being with people who share the same drive and vision. We laughed, explored, and celebrated our wins together.
